The Paris streets have been flooded these past few days—not from an overflow out of the Seine, but with the art world's finest, who have converged upon the French capital for the third edition of Art Basel Paris and second Design Miami.Paris.
To mark the occasion, CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson, alongside Alice and Benjamin Paulin, offered a relaxing reprieve from the bustle in the form of lunch at Paulin, Paulin, Paulin’s sleek Paris showroom—tucked away on rue d’Austerlitz and currently showing "Les Tables de Pierre Paulin."
Among the diners were designer Kelly Lamb, interior designer Olivier Garcé, collectors Danielle and Matthew Greenblatt, Gagosian's Georgina Cohen, the Hammer Museum's Nicole Berry, stylist Becky Akinyode, and illustrator and columnist Jenny Walton, alongside gallerists such as François Ghebaly and artist Meriem Bennani.
With Art Basel Paris now in full swing at the Grand Palais—and satellite events pulsing out to the likes of the Musée de l’Orangerie and Fondation Louis Vuitton—the gathering offered a pause from the art fair frenzy and first recap of works seen thus far. As the afternoon drew to a close, attendees left with CULTURED’s latest issue in hand, a lasting keepsake of an afternoon well spent.
