The View's Whoopi Goldberg is reinventing herself once again this time as designer. A fashion icon in her own right, Goldberg is advocating for a more inclusive take on sizing. Her new line, DUBGEE, which launched earlier this week runs the gamut from small to plus sized waist lines. We got the facts from the source.
You were inspired to start DUBGEE after a trip to Greece. What about the trip made you want to do this? When I was there, I couldn’t find anything that fit my figure. It made me feel bad about myself and my body, and I thought about how many other women must feel the same way. When I returned from that trip, I wanted to expand upon that idea, and it eventually led to the birth of DUBGEE.
How did you come up with the name DUBGEE and what does it mean? The name comes from my initials — ‘W’ and ‘G’ — DUBGEE.
You’re a storyteller who knows how clothes can tell a story. What stories will DUBGEE tell? DUBGEE will tell the story of women everywhere. All different women can wear the clothes in their own way.

How would you describe your personal aesthetic? I'm not telling you, it's personal.
In what clothes do you feel most yourself? I like to be comfortable in what I am wearing. You shouldn’t have to think or worry about what’s in your closet.
When and how did you realize you were drawn to fashion? When I couldn't find what I was looking for.

What words of fashion wisdom would you share with your 20 year old self? If something makes you happy, who’s to tell you that you can or can’t wear something? Wear what makes you the most comfortable.
