On May 20, art whisperer Nicola Vassell inaugurated her new Chelsea gallery with the opening of Ming Smith: Evidence. The exhibition, Smith's first New York opening in over four years, features photographs from throughout the artist's fifty-year career. Evidence captures surreal landscapes and kinetic street scenes with rare silver gelatin and archival prints. Vassell, Smith and friends celebrated the launch of one of few Black-owned art galleries in New York with an intimate dinner hosted by Creator House, a new cultural center in The Space at Flatiron by WeWork.
