Cultured presents Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s second annual “Inside My Studio” summer series. Directed and produced by Dennis Scholl, it’s a series of intimate video portraits of the lives and studios of nine artists. Episode eight features Trevor Paglen, whose work focuses largely on mass surveillance and data collection. Though he’s based in Berlin, Paglen finds himself in San Francisco or New York just about as often, so the studio is a complicated space for him. “When you become an artist,” he laughs, “you have a day job running the studio and then on the weekends, you make art.”
