In true Texas style, the Dallas Art Fair threw a party with tacos and beer on April 10 to open River Bend, a new cultural hub in Dallas’s Design District, and kick off art fair week. Artists and gallerists from around the world came together under the southern sun to watch a SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival performance by Icelandic artist Egill Sæbjörnsson, featuring his two mischievous trolls, Ūgh and Bõögâr. English artist Clare Woods, whose tile murals decorate the development, signed books in a powder blue suit. Erin Cluley Gallery, AND NOW, and 214 Projects, the fair’s new permanent exhibition space, all stayed open late until the crowd had gone. The stetson-filled party included artists Rosson Crow, Arthur Peña, and Carrie Moyer, Dallas Art Fair chairman, John Sughrue, fair directors, Kelly Cornell and Brandon Kennedy, and collectors Kenny Goss and Sharon and Michael Young.
