A little sprinkle of rain can hardly stop the party. That was abundantly clear at Saturday’s Hamptons cover launch with CULTURED cover star Morgan Spector. The magazine and rakish star brought together artists, designers, and cultural insiders for cocktails at the Ranch in Montauk. Hosted by CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson, Spector, and the Ranch’s Max Levai, the exclusive gathering unfolded against buoyant chatter (with plenty of Tequila Don Julio cocktails and take-home 111SKIN gifts), celebrating the critically acclaimed actor in one of the region’s most distinctive settings. “It’s retained its mystique. It’s fantastic,” Spector said of the lush surroundings.
The fête set its scene on Levai’s 26-acre farm-turned-exhibition space, the Ranch, offering guests a rare chance to experience “LA Monumental,” a group exhibition featuring large-scale works by Los Angeles artists Nancy Rubins, Paul McCarthy, and Matt Johnson. The setting distilled everything visitors and locals love about a Hamptons summer—expansive landscapes, world-class art, thoughtful company, and the unique ease of lingering over drinks and snacks by Feisal & Co.
Spector was joined by a cross-section of cultural leaders, including dealer-designer duo David and Monica Zwirner, 111SKIN CMO Michael Edelmann, artist Arcmanoro Niles, fashion tastemakers Lilly Sisto and Tinx, dealer Marc Payot, and designer Ulla Johnson. Guests enjoyed Tequila Don Julio cocktails, including elevated margaritas and special neat pours of Tequila Don Julio Ultima Reserva, a rare extra añejo tequila. They also sampled seasonal canapés and tested luxurious products from 111SKIN—the Repair Serum, served on ice, was a special hit—before singer-songwriter Diva Smith turned the evening into an impromptu dance party with a raucous live set.
As the night wound down, attendees departed with limited-edition CULTURED totes in hand. Inside the bags, guests found a copy of the magazine, recipe cards, and 111SKIN eye masks and creams (essentials for combating the signs of too much fun in Montauk).
“Thank you to Max for creating such an incredible spot in Montauk,” Harrelson said to cheers from the packed house of well-dressed guests. The raindrops only contributed to making the event a splash.
