To mark the latest chapter of the Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre has taken over Sweet Bird North in the Miami Design District for the Reverso Stories, an immersive, pop-up open to the public and on display through May 31 that traces the Art Deco icon from its origins on the polo field to five newly unveiled “Or Deco” pieces. It captures the launch in a 3D-video sculpture, archive-inspired webcomic, and pastry chef’s interpretation of the Golden Ratio. Take a look inside the pop-up’s opening night.

The Scene: Sweet Bird North has transformed into a retrospective spanning the Reverso’s life, from its polo field origins to its current incarnation as an ever-evolving canvas for enamel, engraving, and gemstones. The pop-up consists of four chapters: Story of an Icon, Story of Design, Story of Innovation, and Story of Craftsmanship. Guests at the opening yesterday could even catch a live demonstration of perlage, an intricate watchmaking technique rarely seen outside the atelier.

The Crowd: Five-time NBA All-Star Kevin Love and model and entrepreneur Kate Love hosted the opening night alongside Jaeger-LeCoultre President of the Americas Anne-Laure Ritter and Craig Robins, the CEO of Dacra and co-founder of Design Miami. Also in attendance were Imperial Moto founder Matt McKenna, jewelry designer Dara Kaye, stylist Danielle Salzedo, editor Carson Griffith, and musician Daniela Calle.

The Occasion: It was the Miami debut of the Reverso Stories, celebrating over nine decades of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most iconic timepiece and the unveiling of five new Reverso Or Deco pieces: three jeweled versions set with 46 colored gemstones in sapphire, emerald, and ruby; a monochromatic 18K white gold edition; and a new compact unisex size, all on Milanese bracelets. Also on view exclusively: the Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual in platinum, limited to just 20 numbered pieces.

Food and Drink: The pop-up featured, the Splendeur Tropicale, a gourmet tropical fruit smoothie from World’s Best Pastry Chef 2024 Nina Métayer at the 1931 Café.

What You Missed: The artwork of two makers was displayed at the pop-up: digital media artist Dr. Yiyun Kang’s Origin, a large-scale 3D video sculpture that drew on the proportions of the Golden Ratio and the geometry of the Reverso’s case, as well as, webcomic designer Olivecoat’s archive-inspired series inspired by the Reverso’s history, splashed across the wallpaper.
