The Scene: A fine gold necklace never goes out of style, but the best craftsmen still make a classic feel new. And, as it turns out, for true jewelry lovers, a new boutique is always something to celebrate.
The Occasion: Luxury jeweler Roberto Coin celebrated 30 years last week with a bevy of celebrations across New York and Miami, its two hometowns. It concurrently opened the doors on a new Hudson Yards boutique and reopened its store in the Miami Design District with two separate, and well-trafficked bashes.
The Locale: In Hudson Yards, Robert Coin’s new shop glittered with burnished golden interiors and dangling chandeliers. Glass cases revealed a treasure trove of fine golden and gem-encrusted jewelry, all finished by hand.
The Crowd: Jewelry makers and distinguished guests alike flocked to the boutiques for a preview of new looks by the designer. Mr. Coin himself was in attendance at both events alongside jewelry lovers, artists, and a runway’s worth of models guiding visitors through the new selections.
Parting Gift: Guests left the evening’s festivities carrying custom engraved Venetian masks, a nod to the line’s roots in the Floating City. If you spot a well-dressed passerby walking the streets of Miami or New York incognito anytime soon, fear not.
