It’s that time of year again in Miami. Art fairs buzz with action, parties stretch late into the night, and collectors' homes turn into forums for community and conversation.
On Thursday morning, Jason and Michelle Rubell, pillars of the art collecting community, participated in the Art Week tradition, welcoming guests into their Miami residence for an intimate gathering.
Organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the morning brought together a vibrant mix of collectors, cultural tastemakers, and philanthropists from the Met's new Vanguard Council. CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson and Jane Panetta, Aaron I. Fleischman Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Met, led an insightful conversation on collecting patterns, market trends, and philanthropy with the Rubells, and the talk culminated in an intimate tour through the Rubells’s extraordinary home collection. Attendees included patrons Pete Scantland, Neda Young, Estrellita B. Brodsky, and Matthew and Danielle Greenblatt; design gallerist Emma Scully; writer Nate Freeman; art advisor Ed Tang; and JOOPITER CEO John Auerbach.
Inside the residence, the ambiance was as thoughtfully curated as the art itself—warm light poured through the space, and chatter filled the air as guests wandered from room to room. It was a morning surrounded by striking works and the unmistakable energy of creative exchange––a testament to the Rubells’s family mission to bring art to life in every sense.
Attendees savored the morning's moments of inspiration amid the frenzy of Art Week—a brief, bright pause before heading back into the art-world whirlwind.
