Miami's art scene is all grown up.

It’s thriving, in part thanks to a dedicated coterie of power players like Craig Robins. The real estate developer and prolific collector was honored last week at Bakehouse Art Complex’s Annual Fundraiser.

A Miami Beach native who has seen decades of changes in the city, the collector recently told CULTURED, “The rise of Art Basel Miami Beach and Design Miami catapulted Miami onto the global art stage. It’s become a city where creativity isn’t just welcomed—it’s celebrated and nurtured.” Alongside his wife, Jackie Soffer, Robins has supported Bakehouse’s Studio Subsidy for nearly a decade, as well as many other local initiatives.

At the annual fundraiser, guests—including artists José Bedia and Daniel Arsham, MoMA Board President Sarah Arison, the ICA Miami’s Alex Gartenfeld, PAMM's Franklin Sirmans, the Bass’s Silvia Karman Cubiñá, and gallerist David Castillo—were welcomed to tour artist studios and preview a new site-specific installation, Pico Radial, by Pati Monclús.

“With the support of people like Craig Robins and Jackie Soffer, Bakehouse has been able to provide workspace security to 100 artists, and, in the future will address affordable housing,” Bakehouse Director Cathy Leff told the magazine. Hot off the success of its annual celebration, Bakehouse is already looking ahead to what's next.
