Before the pandemic, Megan Stalter performed short comedy skits live from her living room and shared them on social media. In the past few years, the comedian made the leap from the Internet to TV, and most recently, to the big screen. After playing a charmingly inattentive assistant on HBO’s Hacks, the breakout star's biggest Hollywood role yet might be in Chelsea Peretti’s directorial debut, First Time Female Director. In the film, Peretti stars as Sam, a small-time playwright thrust into a leadership role after the director is fired for innapropriate behavior. She attempts to wrangle an uncooperative cast, including Stalter, into a successful theater troupe. Last Monday, Stalter snapped photos and dished details for CULTURED during the film’s premiere at Tribeca Festival. Expect star-studded selfies and dressing-room chaos.
